Popular Sierra Leonean actress, Producer, Writer and Director,Winstina Taylor has bagged another award in the United States of America. Taylor was honored at the “Daughters of Sierra Leone” award ceremony for her humanitarian work.
Taylor has starred in several hit movies in the Nollywood movie industry. She is the CEO of Prime International, a movie company that has supported dozens of school children in her native home, Sierra Leone. She has also provided skills training facilities and equipment to many young people across Sierra Leone.
Reacting to the award on her facebook page, Taylor had this to say: “I am extremely honored for receiving the “Daughters of Sierra Leone Award” It is such an important award and I’m earnestly grateful for the recognition I have received. This has shown me how much people appreciate me; how much recognition my work in helping humanity has received.”
She says she was quite aware of the contributions of the other nominee for the award. “I know they are as capable, if not more than, I do and fit to receive this award as well.”
“As a daughter of Sierra Leone, I have faced several challenges on my way here but each one of them has only strengthened me to make me the person I am today- a thorough professional who knows exactly what she wants; someone who sets her eyes on a goal and does not lose sight of it unless it’s being achieved.”
She dedicated the award to her family members and well-wishers. “Receiving this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my family members, friends and my fans. I have the deepest respect for them. I have derived the strength from them to challenge myself and perform better at each stage.”
“I also say ‘thank you’ to the organization for your recognition accorded me.”
