Paris Hilton Sympathizes with Sierra Leoneans

Reality television superstar, supermodel and musician, Paris Hilton has reacted to the August 14 mudslide and unprecedented flooding incidents in Sierra Leone, which left over 400 people dead and 600 reported missing.

The ‘Las Vegas’ star has shared a message of condolence with the people of Sierra Leone on social media. She twitted on Tuesday, August 15: “So heartbreaking…My thoughts & prayers are with the people of #SierraLeone during this horrible time.”

The Nigerian star, WizKid also expressed similar sentiment on Twitter. On Monday, August 14, he re-twitted CNN Africa News report about the disaster in Sierra Leone, with the comments: “Pray for Sierra Leone. Wow’’.

Over 200 people were buried on Thursday at Waterloo, the outskirt of Freetown, at a well attended, but solemn ceremony. Liberia’s President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf joined President Koroma at the mass burial ceremony of the victims of Monday’s disaster.
