The second edition of “Housemates Salone, the Last Standing Couple” set to start on October 14th 2020. the showbiz has as Theme ‘Quarantine Drama’.
Housemate Salone is a live television show that brings young Sierra Leoneans together in one house to showcase their everyday lifestyles. It also goes further in its design to empower young people’s natural talents and expose them to the wider world.
Audition is slated for September and all housemates will be going into the house on Wednesday, 14th October. Applications are open to all Sierra Leoneans, including those living in the Diaspora.
CEO of AYV, Anthony Navo Jr. alongside the CEO of Africell, Shadi Gerjawi on Thursday, July 30 officially premiered Housemates Salone Season 2 with an official cash prize of 250,000,000 SLL and a round trip to Dubai.
In a brief statement to mark the launch, CEO of AYV Anthony Navo Jr said: “This year’s theme is: ‘Quarantine Drama’, adding that it was carefully chosen in full realization of the fact that the country is battling with the Coronavirus pandemic.” He added that “the main objective behind Africell and AYV coming together to stage such a show is to empower young Sierra Leoneans and expose them to the world.”
He also disclosed that each participant in the house would receive their daily Le100, 000 payments as long as they continued to stay in the house. He said application forms were already out to the public and that those who wish to participate in the show should obtain their forms at AYV and Africell offices nationwide or through their websites for those outside Sierra Leone. He said they should also do videos of themselves and send them to the judges online and that all payments should be made through Afrimoney.
For his part, the CEO of Africell, Shadi Gerjawi noted that “this is the right time to hold such a show as it encourages people to stay home and watch the reality TV show which will be broadcast 24 hours a day on AYV Television Channel 34.”
Also in attendance was the Minister of Information and Communications, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, who expressed delight at being part of the history-making. He said the show sits very close to the heart of the president as it gives a generation of young people the opportunity to realise their dreams as well as develop their talents.
The Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Dr Memunatu Pratt officially launched the program, while Africell’s John Konteh and AYV’s Phebean Swill moderated the show.
